UIDAI permits users of Aadhaar cardsto change their address without the need for documentation. Aadhaar cardholders were allowed to alter their address in the event that they didn't provide an identity proof.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily stopped a crucial facility which allows you to alter the address of your Aadhaar card's address with no proof of address.

UIDAI lets holders of Aadhaar cards to change their address with no need for any form of documentation. Aadhaar cardholders are able to change their address as long as they accept the authenticity for the verification of address. An address verifier can be a family member, friend landlord, family member or even a friend that will allow the Aadhaar card user to use their address as proof.

UIDAI has stopped this facility. UIDAI was notified by an Aadhaar Card holder by tweeting that the capability to change the address on Aadhaar Card by submitting an Address Validation Letter was canceled. UIDAI has requested an Aadhaar issuer to advise the user that they can update their address by using another valid PoA document.

Dear Residents: The service for the Address Validation Letter service has been taken off until the end of time. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
